It’s easy to forget, but everything in creation is ridiculously fine-tuned. And when you start to look closer, it’s not just science—it’s evidence. Evidence that we didn’t get here by chance. That someone—God—built it all with intention.

Jesus Never Meant for It to Be Complicated

Now don’t get me wrong—there’s a place for the scholars. The theologians. The folks who “major in the minors,” as I like to say. And I mean that in a good way. We’re all part of the body of Christ, and some folks are wired for deep dives.

“The body is not made up of one part but of many.” – 1 Corinthians 12:14

But I don’t think Jesus came to confuse people. He came to save them.

Sometimes the simplest truths are the most powerful. You don’t need a seminary degree to look up at the stars and know:

Evidence of God in Nature: Hmmm… That Seems a Little Too Perfect

The more you observe creation, the more these little “hmmm” moments start adding up. These aren’t just happy accidents—these are features too precise, too thoughtful, too beneficial to be anything but intentional:

• Hmmm… The tilt of Earth’s axis is exactly 23.5°—just enough to prevent extreme heat or ice ages.
• Hmmm… The universe’s constants—like energy levels inside atoms—are so precisely tuned that if they were even slightly off, carbon wouldn’t exist… and neither would you. It’s as if the universe was written with life in mind from the start.
• Hmmm… Streams know to flow from the mountains to the valleys, feeding life along the way. Did that just happen, or does it reflect a Provider who planned ahead?
• Hmmm… Gravity is strong enough to hold the atmosphere, but not so strong we can’t move.
• Hmmm… The human eye has more than 2 million parts, processes light faster than a camera, and even has self-cleaning tear ducts.
• Hmmm… DNA is a 3-billion-letter code that tells your cells exactly how to make you. Every one of your 37 trillion cells has a full copy.
• Hmmm… God doesn’t just make lilies that rival Solomon… He makes them grow—today, tomorrow, quietly, without fanfare. (Matthew 6:28–29)
• Hmmm… The fine-tuned expansion rate of the universe is so precise, that if it had differed by just one part in 10⁵⁵, life as we know it wouldn’t exist. That’s not luck. That’s intention.

You start realizing these “coincidences” aren’t just coincidences. They’re design features.

Nature Doesn’t Just Point to God. It Practically Shouts His Name.

“Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” – Romans 1:20

The Earth is in the exact spot in the solar system to sustain life. The moon is the exact size and distance to control tides. Jupiter acts like a giant bodyguard, deflecting dangerous asteroids. Your nervous system can fire signals at over 260 mph. Even your blood knows exactly how to clot—just enough to stop bleeding, but not enough to kill you.

Coincidence? Or Creator?

Hmmm… Migration patterns, instinctual behaviors, balanced ecosystems—none of it makes sense as random. But they make perfect sense if this world was meant to be inhabited. (Isaiah 45:18)

We’re Finite. But He’s Not.

Here’s the deal: we only see a slice of reality. A sliver of the full picture. We’re finite. Limited. We think we know, but we don’t even know what we don’t know.

“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12

God is not limited. His design is evident in things we still don’t fully understand: the birth of a baby, the formation of a galaxy, the conscience that tells you when something’s right or wrong.

And when you recognize that you’re not here by accident, it changes how you live—because you’re called to make a difference right where you are.

And here’s what’s wild: in all this fine-tuning and intelligent design, God chose us to be part of His plan.

He doesn’t need us, but He invites us. We each have a role—just like different parts of the body. Whether you’re a teacher, a builder, a mom, a pastor, or a guy just trying to figure it out—God has equipped you.

Hmmm… Psalm 139 reminds us we are not accidental—we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Down to the last detail, knit together with purpose.

You’re not here by chance either.

Hmmm… The world works not just because it’s designed, but because it’s cared for—rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous alike. (Matthew 5:45)

This world isn’t just engineered—it’s authored. From the cellular level to the stars in the sky, the fingerprints of the Creator are everywhere.

So next time you breathe in fresh air, feel your heart beat, or look up at a night sky—pause for a moment.

And say, “Hmmm… yeah. That’s not random.”
