“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
— Psalm 56:3 (NIV)
This verse doesn’t pretend fear isn’t there—it starts right in the middle of it. “When I am afraid…” Not if. When.
That alone is honest. Fear shows up in real life—decisions, uncertainty, things we can’t control. It doesn’t mean something is wrong; it means we’re human.
But the second half matters just as much. “I put my trust in you.” Not after fear passes. Not once everything makes sense. Right there, in the moment.
It’s a choice more than a feeling. A quiet shift—acknowledging what you feel, but deciding where you’re going to place your weight.
Fear may still be present, but it doesn’t get the final say.
There’s something steady about that… choosing trust, even while the fear hasn’t left yet.
