John 1:1-3 opens John’s Gospel by taking us back before creation itself. Before there was light, mountains, oceans, or even time as we understand it, Jesus already was. He wasn’t created. He wasn’t part of creation. He is the eternal Word through whom everything came into being.
I don’t know about you, but that stops me every time I read it. Every mountain range, every star in the night sky, every tree, every bird, and every breath we take exists because of Him. The world around us isn’t an accident—it bears the fingerprints of its Creator.
It’s easy to become consumed with the pressures of everyday life and lose sight of just how great Christ truly is. Yet the One who spoke the universe into existence is the same One who knows us, loves us, and holds all things together. Sometimes the best response isn’t to have every answer—it’s simply to stand in awe of who He is.
