However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—— 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)
This verse reminds me how limited our own understanding can be. We tend to judge what is possible by what we’ve already seen, heard, or experienced. I know I do.
But what God has done through Jesus reaches beyond what we could have figured out ourselves. In the next verse, Paul explains that God reveals these things through His Spirit. That makes me think about how understanding Christ has changed the way I see my own life.
I still have questions. I still find myself trying to work everything out and see where it’s all going. But I keep coming back to the grace God has already shown me through Jesus.
There is something quietly reassuring about that. My understanding has limits. His wisdom reaches beyond them.
