“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”
— Psalm 32:7 (NIV)
The words “my hiding place” make this verse feel personal. David knew what it meant to need forgiveness and protection, and he knew he could turn to God for both.
Most of us have days when our thoughts won’t settle. We replay a conversation, worry about someone we love, or wonder how a situation is going to work out. I know how easily those thoughts can follow me into the quiet parts of the day.
This verse reminds me that I can bring those concerns to God without having everything sorted out first. Trusting Him doesn’t mean I won’t face trouble. It means I have Someone to turn to while I’m facing it.
There is comfort in being able to pause and say those same words: “You are my hiding place.”
