“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
— John 3:17 (NIV)
There’s a quiet clarity in this verse that’s easy to miss. Most people carry some sense that God is watching, measuring, maybe even waiting to judge. But this flips that idea. The purpose wasn’t condemnation—it was rescue.
That matters more than we realize. It means the starting point isn’t failure. It’s invitation.
In everyday life, we tend to expect criticism first—at work, in relationships, even within ourselves. We assume we’ve already fallen short. But this verse reminds us that Jesus didn’t enter the world to point fingers. He stepped in to pull people out.
That doesn’t remove truth or accountability. It just sets the tone differently. It tells us where God is coming from.
And maybe that changes how we approach Him—and how we deal with others too.
