My Rock and My Salvation
“Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
— Psalm 62:1–2 (NIV)
I think one of the hardest things for us to do sometimes is simply be still and trust God.
We like to figure things out. We want to know what’s going to happen next, how something is going to work out, or what we need to do to fix it. And when we don’t have those answers, it can be hard to find any real rest.
That’s what stands out to me in these verses. David knew where his security came from. God was his rock and his fortress—the one thing he could depend on when everything else around him felt uncertain.
Maybe that’s something we all need to be reminded of once in a while.
We don’t have to have everything figured out to find rest.
We just need to remember where our foundation is.
