This Christian Mother’s Day tribute is my way of celebrating the incredible gift of a godly mother. For me, that blessing shows up every day in my wife, Annie.
Watching the bond she shares with our daughter, Elizabeth, is something I’ll never fully be able to describe—it’s a connection that’s God-breathed. Sure, I have my own special relationship with Elizabeth as her dad, but the closeness she shares with Annie is something special, beautiful, and life-giving in a way that only a mother can give.
Whenever I hear the two of them talking, laughing, and sharing their hearts, it always makes me smile and reminds me of the nurturing love God designed mothers to give.
A Godly Mother’s Everyday Love: A Christian Mother’s Day Tribute
Proverbs 31:10-12 captures it so well:
“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” (Proverbs 31:10-12, NIV)
Annie lives out this Scripture every day—as both a wife and a mother to Elizabeth. Her love shows up in the little things: from preparing meals to praying with and for Elizabeth; from cheering her on at every milestone to sitting quietly beside her when days are hard. She’s a steady, nurturing force in our home—always in Elizabeth’s corner, always pouring out love, even when no one’s watching.
Isaiah 66:13 says:
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” (NIV)
It’s amazing that God compares His own comfort to a mother’s embrace. I see that in Annie’s quiet prayers, her gentle encouragement, and her unwavering support of our daughter.
A Legacy of Love and Faith
Motherhood has deepened Annie’s understanding of God’s love. She’s told me more than once that being a mother has opened her eyes to the depth of His sacrifice, patience, and unfailing love—and that it has given her a clearer understanding of the kind of love that flows through a mother’s heart, reflecting God’s own heart for His children.
Proverbs 23:25 reminds us:
“May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!” (NIV)
That joy fills our home. Annie’s faith, patience, and sacrificial love have shaped Elizabeth’s heart in ways I couldn’t have imagined. She’s not just raising a daughter—she’s raising a future woman of God, modeling faith, integrity, and the heart of a godly mother.
Throughout Elizabeth’s life, Annie has always been there—preparing breakfasts before school, packing lunches, and always tucking in a note of encouragement or something special to brighten Elizabeth’s day. Even while Elizabeth was in college, Annie went above and beyond, making events with friends special by cooking, baking, or sending treats and decorations to help celebrate.
Honestly, this post would be very long if I tried to list all the ways Annie has tirelessly gone above and beyond to show her love for Elizabeth.
So this Mother’s Day, I want to honor Annie for the truly amazing mother you are to our daughter, Elizabeth. Thank you for every meal prepared, every prayer whispered, every tear wiped away, and every cheer shouted from the sidelines. Thank you for laughing with Elizabeth, for showing her what grace and strength look like, and for reflecting God’s love in every ordinary, extraordinary moment.
Psalm 127:3 reminds us:
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” (NIV)
Elizabeth is truly a blessing—and Annie, you are the blessing God entrusted to shepherd her heart.
Happy Mother’s Day to you—and to all the amazing mothers who reflect Christ’s love every day, even in the smallest unseen moments.
