“Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”
— 1 John 2:6 (NIV)
This verse is short, but it gives us a picture of what the Christian life is meant to look like.
Many people think Christianity is mainly about rules, traditions, or trying harder to be a better person. But John points to something much simpler. The goal is not merely learning about Jesus. It is learning to walk with Him and gradually become more like Him.
That can feel overwhelming at first. At least it did for me. The more I learned about Jesus, the more I realized how far short I fell.
The good news is that following Christ is not about finally getting everything right. It is about taking the next step, then the next one after that.
As we grow in faith, we begin to see that Christianity is less about earning God’s approval and more about trusting Him enough to follow where He leads.
